There is a global recall on EGR Valve Cooler, possibly related to the recent incidents in South Korea, where BMWs caught fire. Better check with your dealer. I recently received a letter stating BMW is extending the warranty on the EGR valve and EGR cooler to 10 years / 120k.
4. Check engine light. Often the vehicle ECU will be able to tell that there is a discrepancy in the system and will turn on the check engine light. It may turn on when the cooler becomes restricted or isn鈥檛 functioning properly. Either way, when you see that check engine light, it is probably time to check your engine.
Use tin snips to trim your copper blank. Remove the engine cover, EGR cooler V-clamp and clip from the intake hose. Move the intake hose to the right so you can access the EGR cooler screw. Loosen bolts 4 and 5. Move the EGR cooler to the left enough to slide your copper blank between the cooler outlet and EGR inlet.

I think the coolant blanks you need are 18mm. The exhaust manifold blank can be purchased on ebay, as can a replacement for the EGR valve on the intake.

2003 E53 3.0 [0.00] 2006 E90 325i [0.00] I don't have TestO working yet but my borascope camera came in. Here are a couple of videos of the EGR while driving and the boost is bouncing around. The first is a 0 - 40 MPH. The 2nd going up a bridge at 80 mph. The EGR recall mentions new DDE software is needed.
If so, the procedure is fairly simple. You will need to disconnect the electromagnet from the EGR valve, remove the few screws that hold it in place, and remove it. Once these steps are completed, now comes the time for cleaning. To do this, you will need to use a product such as solvent, petrol, oven cleaning product, which you will leave to
#1 路 Jul 31, 2016 Hello Everyone, I have worked on many diesel light duty trucks older and newer but the BMW diesels are completely new to me. I have a 2012 X5 diesel that has had no troubles for 60k miles. Not long ago, the check engine light came on. No drivability problems whatsoever though. Dealer pulled P045 code.

Low Pressure EGR Problem. So the dealer came up with 2 recommendations. Wanted to get your thoughts based on the diagnostics report. I appreciate any direction you guys can give me. Either replacing the EGR myself or the Solenoid. Thanks, Claudio. Attached Images. CLAUDIO.X5-DIAG.pdf (1.80 MB, 653 views)
